I am going to try to bring you an in-depth review of a product every Tuesday.  My product today is  Slimpressions.  This is an undergarment shapewear that is supposed to make you look slimmer.  Yay!  There are 3 differrent Slimpressions tops to choose from as well as other product, but I want to talk about 2 that I got. Skinny Minis - This is a camisole that gives you upper body control ($49) The Haves - This one slims your arms (you know…the flab that flaps when you wave), upper body, and pushes your ta-ta’s up to give you a little more cleavage($69) The Have-Nots - This slims your upper arms, upper body but scoops down below your ta-ta’s to let the real deal show for themselves($69) When my package arrived from Slimp...

When my package arrived from Slimpressions I was super excited! I ripped it open and pulled out 3 of the littlest pieces of fabric that I have seen since my girls were teeny-tiny. Uh-oh…how was I going to fit into one of these? Maddie laughed at the thought! They looked really short too…I hate wearing a cami that keeps riding up. I looked them over, read the directions - you have to step in to them, then slide them up. Seriously? I checked the size…yep, they sent the right size. Here goes nothing….I wiggled the Skinny Mini up and adjusted it into place. Guess what? It fit perfectly! Nice and long (it actually went down to my behind) and it felt like it was holding everything into place.  The true test would be wearing it for a while. Yesterday I put on the Have-Not to wear. This one has sleeves that go down to your elbows. I put it on and wondered if I would really be comfortable in it all day long. I liked that it felt like it was making me stand up straighter, but was worried that it would feel constricting after a while. I pulled my jeans on over it and was floored…they were very loose. The Slimpression actually made my jeans one size too big!! I’m not kidding…seriously. After wearing it for about an hour I actually forgot that I had it on and never gave it a second thought…until I received a compliment. I had two people ask me if I had lost weight, and one person tell me that my boobs looked bigger!! Again, seriously. Can you believe it? I’m sold! They are seamless, have mesh armpits, and truly hide your muffin-top.  I couldn’t even figure out where it put mine…I expected a little roll to pop out of the bottom of it…nope, it was gone! Family photos are fun. I am always the photographer (by choice). Vacations used to be fun, now I hate going to the beach or the pool and swimming was my sport.  Now, let’s flip to work. I am confident, driven and great at what I do, yet … I weigh 340lbs drumroll please ....  my insurance company does not have any surgical or non-surgical weight loss plans.  I can't even take advantage of the nutritional programs or proceed to my referral at the bariatric facility nearby.  Can you feel my tears running down my cheeks?

God brought me to this inspiring woman named Amy Pedersen, CEO of Slimpressions. I fell in love with her story and loved seeing the website.  There is such a great group of people here … much like a family.  Looking at the products, I thought, “Yeah right, how am I going to fit into these?”  I wanted to order one online, but didn’t. Then the emotions kick in, depression because you are too big yet … “you have such a beautiful face”, “you have a great heart”, “you are an amazing person” … YES BUT I AM FAT … I weigh 340lbs!

Amy surprised me one day with a little brown bag.  Inside it was a Comfy Bralette. I took it home and tried it on and was so excited. It fit perfect.  It was soft, comfortable, supported me in all the right places and gave me so much confidence.  I was shocked … and yet I weigh 340lbs. Real shapewear for Real women! I get it. #Ibelieve I have very dear friend who has lost 180+ lbs. She has been such an inspiration to me personally and professionally.  My family, friends, Amy and Slimpressions are behind me.  What am I waiting for? So I started my diet 4/9/2016 because I am 340lbs. Not just because I failed my first physical ever and my doctor said I had to, but because I need this.  I drove to my prayer group at church last night and as I sat in silence, tears just fell. One by one, like a child slowly turning on a faucet. Soon, I simply lost control of all my emotions and felt naked in my skin bearing my soul in silence to God as he said, “Be Bold. Be Brave.” I opened up to my group and shared my struggle.  They prayed over me and I found continued strength through their healing words.

I don’t weigh 340lbs. Today I weigh 330lbs.  I have a weight loss of  10lbs in 10 days. This is the first post (of many) you will see of my weight loss journey. My first weight loss goal is 50x50. 50lbs by age 50 which will be coming up at the end of September. Slimpressions is not just a company with products on their website.  They care about OUR journey and are here to cheer us on.  The journey can be weight loss, career driven, family extension, inner healing, or retirement. Tone by Zone Exercise Series – Butt

We all have unwanted problem areas, which is one of the main reasons Slimpressions® was created. In additional to your overall cardio, there are specific exercises you can do to ‘tone by zone.’ We've touched on arms and the belly, but for our final post in the series, let's tone that tush! Butt Lift Lie on your back with your knees bent. Squeeze your glutes together while lifting your hips to the ceiling. Slowly bring back down and repeat 20 times. Donkey Kicks Get on all fours. Kick your left leg backwards towards the ceiling, keeping it bent. After 20 kicks, switch legs and repeat. Frog Jump Crouch down into a “frog” position, placing both hands on the ground.   • Lie on your back with your knees bent.
